My 5 Favorite Things About Fall
As much as I love the long, sunny days of summer, there’s always something about fall that feels like coming home. Maybe it’s the rhythm of the season, maybe it’s the comfort of familiar traditions….but every year, I find myself looking forward to it. Here are five of my favorite things about fall, the ones that make this season so special to me:
1. Crisp Mornings and Cooler Temperatures
Fall mornings are magic. There’s just something about stepping outside into the cool, crisp air that makes me want to take a deep breath and reset. After months of summer heat, that first morning where you can see your breath feels like such a gift. I love throwing on a sweatshirt, wrapping my hands around a warm cup of coffee, and soaking in the quiet. It’s the kind of morning that makes you feel alive and ready for what’s ahead.
2. Traditions That Carry Through Generations
Some of my favorite memories from childhood are tied to fall traditions….apple picking, visiting pumpkin patches, and coming home with bags of apples to bake pies or crisps. Those little rituals always felt magical to me as a kid, and now, being able to do them with my own children feels even more special. There’s something grounding about returning to the same traditions year after year…. it’s like a thread that connects my childhood to theirs. Watching their excitement as they run through the pumpkin patch or climb a ladder to pick apples brought me right back to my own childhood joy.
3. The Beauty of the Season
Everywhere you look, fall is bursting with color. The leaves changing, the deep reds and yellows, porches filled with mums, pumpkins lined up in a row,it’s like nature’s way of saying, “slow down and enjoy the view.” I notice myself being more intentional this time of year, taking longer walks just to crunch through the leaves or pausing to appreciate the trees glowing in the late afternoon sun. Fall reminds me to look for beauty in the small, everyday moments.
4. Cozy Comforts at Home
As much as I love being outdoors, fall also makes me want to hunker down and soak up the cozy side of life. There’s nothing better than lighting a candle, cooking a warm meal, or curling up with a blanket after a long day. The earlier evenings give me permission to slow down. This season reminds me that rest and nourishment matter, too,it’s not always about going, doing, and pushing. Sometimes the healthiest thing we can do is pour a cup of tea, grab a book, and let ourselves just be.
5. A Season of Change and Reflection
Maybe my favorite part about fall is what it represents. The trees let go of their leaves without fear, and the whole world shifts to make space for something new. For me, fall is always a time of reflection. It’s when I naturally check in with myself….where am I growing, what am I ready to let go of, and what do I want to carry into this next chapter? It’s the perfect season for setting fresh goals, resetting routines, and realigning with what matters most. Fall reminds me that change is not only inevitable, it can be beautiful. 🍁🍂🍁
That’s why fall has always felt like the perfect time for a reset…not just in nature, but in life and health, too. When the seasons shift, it gives us a chance to shift with them. I love helping women use this time of year to create routines that feel sustainable, recommit to their goals, and embrace the idea that change doesn’t have to be overwhelming…it can be exciting, empowering, and even joyful. Just like fall, transformation is beautiful when we lean into it.
